The Transformative Experience: Welcome B-2024

In July 2024, the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT- held a special welcome event for new students of the B-2024 period, under the motto "UMECIT: Experience that Transforms." This event took place at the Panama, La Chorrera, Santiago and David campuses, and was full of activities designed to integrate newcomers into our university community.

The event, organized under the leadership of University Welfare and in collaboration with the Academic Directorate, had the active participation of the entire student community. The new students were welcomed with dynamics that highlighted the "stars" of the Curricular Educational Model and the university identity of UMECIT. The day began with a motivational message that set the tone for a day full of creativity, leadership and teamwork.

Among the activities, the students were guided by academic and campus coordinators, who led the teams in dynamics such as leaving footprints with paint, crossing a field of bolibombas, creating choreographies and solving communication games and puzzles. These activities not only fostered team spirit, but also facilitated effective interaction between students, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and mutual support.

This event highlighted UMECIT's unique identity and reaffirmed our commitment to an education that transforms lives, making each student feel an integral part of our community from day one. Important university authorities, such as Dr. José Alberto Nieto, Rector of the University, and the team from the Academic Vice-Rector's Office, were present to underline the relevance of the event for the institution.

The main objective of this welcome was to ensure that new students began their academic journey at UMECIT feeling connected, inspired and motivated. The activities strengthened social and collaborative skills, essential for success in both academic and professional settings.

At the end of the day, the students shared their experiences and enjoyed a snack, thus closing a day that left indelible marks and a renewed sense of belonging.

With this event, UMECIT reaffirms its commitment to continuous growth and educational transformation, ensuring that each student not only acquires knowledge, but also lives an enriching and meaningful university experience.
