With an important participation, the 4th Working Breakfast was held
called "University, Business and Society", where by working groups
businessmen, students, graduates and academic representatives gathered
to know the training, training and research needs of the sector
productive.
Magister Alfredo Mitre, National Director of Employment of the Ministry of Labor and
Labor Development, highlighted, within the framework of the event, the importance of having
independent professionals, capable and with values to work in a
organization or to create your own company: "Today, employment opportunities
and human development are globalized. Employment and work is globalizing every
again and in 10 years when technology encompasses all jobs we will be
more globalized,” said Miter.
Likewise, he explained the tenacity of the labor force in Panama, which was seen
affected by the pandemic where there was a net unemployment of 18.5%.
“Covid 19 in 2020 affected us a lot, but we were able to get ahead in less
two years and we managed to cover this level of unemployment. Entrepreneurship is
something good because even if it starts in an informal way it can become a
company that generates two or three or more jobs”, said the National Director of Employment
of the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development.
For his part, the rector, José Alberto Nieto Rojas, explained the importance of these
events with the purpose of articulating society with programs of
update relevant to the economic and social areas that are part of the
integral development of Panama and the region.
