We strengthen the culture of prevention by participating in the World Day for Safety and Health at Work

The Occupational Health and Safety Coordination of the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT-, under the leadership of Professor Ricaurte Bethancourt, participated last April 28 in the activity organized by the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) in commemoration of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

This event brought together experts from the employer sector and special guests, who shared their experiences and knowledge, thus strengthening the preventive culture in occupational safety at the national level. UMECIT's active participation reaffirms its commitment to training competent and socially responsible professionals.

From the perspective of the teaching, this activity represents a valuable opportunity to experiential learning for students in the Occupational Health and Safety program. Attending and participating in these workshops allows them to transfer theoretical knowledge to real-life situations, enriching their graduate profile through keynote presentations, case studies, and best practices.

Within the framework of the university extensionUMECIT's collaboration with a high-impact government entity like the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) strengthens ties between the education and public sectors, promotes citizen participation, and contributes to the transfer of essential knowledge for the development of more robust health and safety management systems.
