As part of the comprehensive approach to accounting teaching and with the purpose of fostering entrepreneurial spirit in students, the workshop was held at the UMECIT headquarters in Santiago on Entrepreneurship Forum focused on the analysis of the elements of the Production cost of Robusta coffee, from harvest to marketing.
This initiative was carried out as an activity of university extension, within the framework of the academic development of the subjects General Accounting and Cost AccountingThe forum provided students with practical tools to identify and analyze direct and indirect costs, labor, and administrative expenses that make up the coffee production cycle. The forum also highlighted the importance of using accounting to generate financial reports that facilitate informed business decision-making.
The event was attended by Mr. Eduardo Abrego, a renowned coffee producer and entrepreneur, who shared his experience in the cultivation, processing, and marketing of Robusta coffee, focusing on the accounting management of costs associated with this economic activity.
Students from various programs at UMECIT and ISAE University actively participated in this event, fostering a valuable inter-institutional academic exchange. The event highlighted the shared interest in sustainable entrepreneurship initiatives, especially in areas where coffee production represents a real opportunity for economic and social development.
This forum allowed integrate technical accounting knowledge with an entrepreneurial vision, contributing to the strengthening of productive microprojects in rural contexts and reaffirming UMECIT's institutional commitment to applied education, oriented towards the productive environment and community development.
