On August 17, 2024, an important collaboration agreement was signed between the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT-, the Polytechnic Institute of America -INSPA- and the National Association of Nursing Practitioners, Assistants and Technicians -ANPATE-. The event took place at the Chitré headquarters of UMECIT, marking a milestone in inter-institutional cooperation for education and health in Panama.
Representing Dr. José Alberto Nieto Rojas, Rector of UMECIT, were Magister Anyelka Samaniego, Coordinator of Outreach and Research at the Chitré campus, Magister Andrea Pinzón Castañeda, Coordinator of Agreements and Internationalization, and Mr. Ricaurte Rodríguez, Coordinator of Continuing Education.
The main objective of this agreement is to strengthen the academic and professional training of nursing technicians through the joint implementation of continuing education and professional development programs between the three institutions. The collaboration between UMECIT, INSPA and ANPATE seeks to significantly improve the quality of health care in the country, providing new training and growth opportunities for professionals in the sector.
This agreement represents a significant step in the commitment of the signatory institutions to educational excellence and the continuous improvement of health services in Panama. UMECIT reaffirms its commitment to continue contributing to the academic and professional development of nursing technicians, positively impacting the quality of life of the population.
