CONAPRED Executive Secretary Jissel Maitin, together with Lic. Thais Tejada, Dr. Nadja Porcell and Lcda. Shesnarda Herrera, offered an excellent presentation to our students of the Faculty of Health Sciences.
This presentation, organized in collaboration with the Council of Rectors and REPAUPS, addressed the crucial issue of drug use under the slogan “CONSUMPTION CONSUMES YOU”.
During the presentation, various aspects related to the impact of drug use on individuals' physical and mental health were discussed. The speakers analyzed the short- and long-term consequences of substance use, including adverse effects on the nervous system, cardiovascular problems, and alterations in behavior and cognitive abilities.
In addition, the importance of prevention and the role of education in promoting healthy lifestyles were emphasized. The presentation also included strategies to identify warning signs and resources available for the support and treatment of people affected by addictions.
The motto “Consumption Consumes You” was central to the talk, highlighting how drug use can consume not only physical and mental health, but also emotional well-being, interpersonal relationships and overall quality of life.
We thank all those involved for their valuable contribution to raising awareness on this important issue and for their efforts in educating our students to foster a healthier society.
