Successful tour of the 4th Working Breakfast University, Business and Society in the countryside headquarters
The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology - UMECIT - held a series of events at its campuses in David, Santiago and Chitre with the purpose of interacting with different sectors and promoting integration between the university, business and society.
Among them, the 4th Working Breakfast was held at each of the sites, with the participation of representatives of public and private organizations, students, teachers, and graduates.
Among the objectives of this valuable tour is to interact with businessmen from different areas to highlight the needs in terms of professionals and new trends in the labor market to enrich, from the academy, such demand.
These meetings allow our University to be one step ahead in creating programs in accordance with the needs of the country and the region, thus demonstrating the University's commitment to the community and its interest in promoting collaboration between different sectors.
Also, as part of the successful tour of the Academic Vice Rector's Office and the Extension Department of our University, training sessions were held with teachers to discuss topics such as the Neo-Cyberhumanist curricular educational model, the role of the teacher in the digital era and evaluation strategies in the face of artificial intelligence.
The first of the meetings was held at the David Campus on April 26. Representatives of Senniaf, the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Chiriqui, the Ministry of Housing, Mop, Etesa, Ministry of Environment, Cecomro, CSS, Minsa, among other institutions and organizations of the region participated in the 4th Working Breakfast of the University, Business and Society.
The following day, April 27, the event was held at the Santiago Campus, with the presence and opening of the event, the Rector of our University, Dr. Jose Alberto Nieto Rojas, accompanied by the Academic Vice Rector, Mag. Mauricio Sierra, Director of Extension, Mag. Teresa Martínez de Irving, Coordinator of University Welfare, Janiss Briceño and the Coordinator of the Campus, Publio Caballero.
As a fundamental part of the integration of society and university, UMECIT achieved a large participation of public and private organizations: National Police, Mayor's Office of Santiago, Government of Santiago, Fanlyc, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Women's Affairs, Maritime Authority, Pandeportes, Mici, among others.
To conclude the valuable tour, the Chitré headquarters was visited on April 28, where there was an outstanding participation of Mides, Mida, Apede, Mitradel, Deja tu Huella Foundation, Municipality of Chitré, CSS, San Juan Bautista Cathedral, Childhood and Adolescence Police, Speech Therapy Clinic and Siatec specialties, among others.
All the events were attended by teachers, students, graduates, and administrative staff of our university, who were very pleased with the call and for promoting this type of events that result in the continuous improvement of the quality of our processes.
