UMECIT Megamall students strengthen their logistics skills during a visit to the DHL Distribution Center.

The past Saturday, April 26, the students of the Bachelor's Degree in Maritime and Port Administration of UMECIT, headquarters mega mall building, they carried out an enriching academic visit to the DHL Distribution Center, under the management of the Professor Karen Peralta.

This activity had the objective of strengthen practical learning of students through direct observation of the logistics operations of a leading global transportation and distribution company.

During the visit, the students were able to observe and analyze:

  • Efficient logistics processes: Methods used in the management, classification and shipping of packages.

  • Advanced technology: Use of automated systems such as conveyor belts, digital sorting, and smart storage.

  • Inventory management: Strategies applied to optimize product storage and recovery.

  • Sustainable operations: Green initiatives such as the use of renewable energy and waste reduction.

This academic internship not only reinforced the theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom, but also allowed students to visualize the application of good logistics practices in a real-life setting.
