UMECIT students enjoy and learn with the screening of Tropicalypse, The Last Amulet
The students of the Bachelor's Degree in Audiovisual Production with an Emphasis in Radio and Television at UMECIT had the pleasure of enjoying the film Tropicalypse, The Last Amulet, a production by African filmmaker Mulget Amaru. This event was organized by Innovacine Panamá in conjunction with our House of Studies.
Mulget Amaru, who was stranded in Panama due to the Covid-19 pandemic, took advantage of his time in the country to create this production. Fascinated by the landscapes and cultural wealth of Panama, Amaru filmed the film in the Gamboa area, using only a cell phone and the collaboration of local people he met during his stay.
During the event, students also had the opportunity to interact with Andy Marshall, a member of Innovacine Panama. Marshall shared information about film events in Panama and explained how students can get involved with their own productions.
The projection of Tropicalypse, The Last Amulet It was not only a visual delight, but also an enriching educational experience. Participants learned about the opportunities and challenges of film production in Panama and were inspired to explore their creativity in future projects.
Interactions with professionals such as Mulget Amaru and Andy Marshall motivated students to consider new possibilities for their careers in audiovisual production. This type of activities strengthens the link between UMECIT and the film industry, promoting the development of local talent.
We thank all the participants and organizers for making this inspiring event possible.
