Psychology students from UMECIT make an academic visit to the National Oncology Institute

Within the framework of strengthening professional and human training, students of the career of UMECIT Psychology, accompanied by the teacher Monica Urriola, made an enriching academic visit to the National Oncology Institute (ION).

The day's theme was “Psycho-oncology and emotional support for cancer patients”, a key issue in the comprehensive approach to mental health for those facing complex medical treatments.

The students were welcomed by the Master Eybar Sanguillén, from the mental health department at ION, who shared his professional experience and highlighted the importance of psychological intervention in treatment and recovery processes, emphasizing how empathy and emotional support contribute to the overall well-being of patients.

This activity allowed future psychologists to experience firsthand the impact of psychological support in hospital settings, reinforcing the values of human sensitivity, social commitment, and professional ethics that characterize training at UMECIT.
