UMECIT preschool students carry out storytelling activities at the San Antonio Bilingual School
The group of the Bachelor's Degree in Preschool Education at the Santiago Campus of UMECIT, under the coordination of Professor Evelia González, carried out an outstanding practical activity that integrated various strategies learned in their Spanish Language Teaching classes.
Among the featured activities, the storyteller "The 3 Little Pigs" was presented, whose main objective was to entertain and captivate the children's audience through storytelling. Using voice, facial expression and gestures, the storytellers managed to immerse young listeners in an imaginary world, transmitting values and encouraging imagination.
Another activity carried out was “The Animal Sounds Box”, a playful dynamic that involved a dice-shaped box with images of animals on each side. The children, organized into teams, threw the dice and had to imitate the sound of the animal shown in the image. This activity promoted the relationship between meanings and signifiers, in addition to working on phonetics and phonology in pronunciation and discipline.
Additionally, a group dance was carried out with a song that indicated the movements to follow, promoting physical exercise, interaction and following commands.
The activity had a positive impact on the learning process of the Preschool Degree students, who demonstrated a high level of commitment and effective management of the activity. For UMECIT University, the impact of this activity was highly positive. The projection of the students in this center highlighted the commitment of UMECIT in the preparation of future professionals in the area of education, demonstrating high levels of dedication and commitment to the education of preschool children.
This experience reaffirms UMECIT's commitment to training competent and dedicated professionals, while positively contributing to the educational development of the community.
