As part of its commitment to training professionals aware of the country's environmental challenges, UMECIT, La Chorrera campus, participated in the Environmental Meeting 2026, organized by the American University (UAM) of West Panama, in conjunction with the Ministry of Environment and the Network of Panamanian Universities for Sustainable Development (RUPADES).

Representing the University were students from the Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Management, Saturday modality, accompanied by the teacher German Jaen, who participated in this important space for academic exchange focused on sustainability, environmental education and cooperation between higher education institutions.

The delegation's participation was made possible thanks to the efforts of UMECIT, in conjunction with the American University, the host institution of the meeting.

During the day, the students shared experiences with representatives from various universities across the country, strengthening their knowledge of sustainable development, environmental protection, and environmental leadership. They also had the opportunity to learn about initiatives and best practices aimed at promoting a culture of environmental responsibility and civic engagement.
