The Council of Rectors of Panama and the Network of Inclusive Universities of Panama (REUNIPA) successfully completed the Educational Accessibility Week. Diversity that empowers: Building bridges of equality, held from September 16 to 20. This event brought together all the member institutions of the Network, reaffirming their commitment to inclusive education.

Throughout the week, critical topics for educational inclusion were addressed, such as the use of emerging technologies and effective strategies for the integration of inclusive practices. Discussions revolved around technological accessibility, the design of adaptive educational environments, and the development of policies to promote equity. The presentations were held in hybrid and virtual modalities, allowing for dynamic interaction between participants.

Dr. José Alberto Nieto, Rector of UMECIT, highlighted the importance of the Neocyberhumanist Curricular Educational Model at the closing of the event, stating that “educational accessibility is a fundamental pillar at UMECIT, deeply rooted in our institutional values.” Jannis Helen Briceño, Vice President of REUNIPA and Coordinator of University Welfare, emphasized: “This meeting has been fundamental to promote our vision of a universally accessible education, reflecting the urgency of adapting our methodologies and approaches.”

The event was attended by a notable number of teachers, students and administrative staff from each university, demonstrating the great interest and relevance of educational accessibility. Key figures in the sector, such as CONADIS and SENADIS, were essential as strategic allies, providing resources that enriched the presentations and debates.
