We are proud to share that our coordinator of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Lourdes Iribarren, represented UMECIT as a guest speaker at the 5th National Congress on Occupational Safety and Health, held on August 16 and 17 in Santiago de Veraguas, Panama.
Lourdes Iribarren presented a paper entitled: “Evaluation and Continuous Improvement: Advances in the University Accreditation of Occupational Safety and Health Degrees in Panama.” Her presentation highlighted the efforts and achievements in the accreditation of Occupational Safety and Health degrees, underlining the importance of evaluation and continuous improvement in the training of professionals in this field.
In addition, 12 students from our university's Occupational Health and Safety program participated actively in the event's logistics, under the supervision of Licda. Marisela Rodríguez, in charge of the venue, and the program coordinator, Eng. Ricaurte Bethancourt. During the congress, the results of the research entitled: "Ergonomic risk assessment in office environments for administrative staff at ANSEC in the province of Veraguas" were also shared.
