Framework Cooperation Agreement strengthens academic ties between Panama and the Dominican Republic

The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT- and the Higher Technical Community Institute (ITSC), of the Dominican Republic, signed a Framework Cooperation Agreement, with the objective of strengthening academic, technical and scientific collaboration between both institutions.

This agreement establishes the basis for the development of joint actions in areas such as professional practice, social work, training, academic updating, research and mobility, promoting comprehensive training opportunities for students, teachers and collaborators.

Among the commitments undertaken is the participation of ITSC officials in seminars and academic programs with curricular validity at UMECIT, as well as access to undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs. 

The agreement also includes exclusive economic benefits for ITSC employees, granting discounts on monthly fees for technical careers, bachelor's degrees, specializations, master's degrees and doctorates, in accordance with UMECIT's institutional regulations.

Likewise, both institutions commit to jointly organizing congresses, seminars, symposia, workshops, conferences and academic fairs, as well as exchanging information and academic material, respecting the corresponding copyrights.

With this strategic alliance, UMECIT reaffirms its commitment to internationalization, inter-institutional cooperation and academic excellence, strengthening ties that positively impact higher education in the region.
