The past December 10th, the students of General psychology of the groups AA 2022 D and BA 2023 D, from the day shift, together with the teacher Monica Urriola, carried out a significant closing activity of the subjects Mental Health and Psycho-Oncology.

Under the theme «Cancer Psycho-Wellbeing and Mental Health», the students presented displays and interactive activities with the aim of raising awareness in the educational community about the importance of emotional well-being in the context of cancer, highlighting the connection between mental health and oncological processes.

Main Objectives:

1️⃣ Raise awareness on the emotional impact of cancer, reporting how a diagnosis can generate emotional disturbances such as anxiety, depression and fear.
2️⃣ Promote psychological care, highlighting the importance of emotional support during treatment to improve patients' quality of life.
3️⃣ Provide practical tools self-care, offering coping strategies that strengthen resilience and support networks.
4️⃣ Reducing the stigma associated with mental health in cancer, promoting the search for psychological care as an essential part of treatment.
5️⃣ Promoting a comprehensive approach in oncological treatment, considering both the physical and emotional aspects of the patients.

Through this initiative, the need for a holistic approach to cancer care was highlighted and useful and accessible information was provided to patients, families and the community at large.

👏 We congratulate our students and teacher Mónica Urriola for their commitment to education and comprehensive well-being, raising awareness and transforming lives.
