Last Friday, August 9, the Santiago branch of UMECIT celebrated Lawyers' Day with great success, bringing together students, teachers and graduates of the Bachelor's Degree in Law and Political Science under the inspiring motto "Law is Learned by Studying and Practiced by Thinking."
The event featured the outstanding participation of Judge Larissa Rodríguez, of the Superior Labor Court of the Second Judicial District, who offered an enriching discussion on the role of the lawyer today and the challenges that the profession faces in a context of constant change. Her intervention provided attendees with a valuable opportunity to obtain an updated and in-depth perspective on the practice of law.
During the celebration, the work of the program's professors and the students who are part of the research groups was recognized, highlighting their commitment and dedication to strengthening the academic community. These recognitions underline the importance of research and academic excellence as fundamental pillars in the training of future law professionals.
The day was not only a time for celebration, but also for reaffirming the commitment of the university and its educational community to promoting ethical, reflective and socially committed professional practice. UMECIT is proud to train lawyers who not only stand out for their knowledge, but also for their ability to think critically and their social responsibility.
