Training on Coral Reefs within the Framework of “Learning Environmental Culture in Higher Education”

Within the framework of the training sessions “Learning Environmental Culture in Higher Education”, a session dedicated to the topic “Coral Reefs” will be held. This event will take place on September 26 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm virtually and will feature a presentation by Génesis Méndez, a prominent Marine Biologist. Participation is by prior registration.

Coral reefs are one of the most diverse and valuable ecosystems on the planet, providing habitat and refuge for a wide variety of marine species. They also play a crucial role in protecting coastlines from erosion and sustaining fisheries, which is vital for many coastal communities. However, these ecosystems are threatened by factors such as climate change, pollution and destructive fishing.

Presenter Génesis Méndez, with her vast experience in marine biology, will offer an in-depth look at the importance of coral reefs, the challenges they face, and strategies for their conservation. This session will provide attendees with essential knowledge to understand and contribute to the protection of these critical ecosystems.

Talking about coral reefs is essential to raise awareness about their importance and promote actions that help preserve them. The training will not only inform participants about the current situation of reefs, but will also provide them with tools to take effective action in their own communities and areas of influence.
