The administrative staff of the Chitré headquarters participated in a Training on Evacuation Techniques, given by the International Fire Rescue School Panama (INFIRESC), as part of the actions aimed at strengthening prevention, occupational safety and risk management in the institution.
During the day, participants received technical instruction on protocols for action in emergency situations, with special attention to the procedures necessary to carry out an orderly and safe evacuation.
The training covered aspects related to responding to fires, earthquakes and structural threats, as well as the importance of maintaining effective communication, identifying evacuation routes and recognizing established meeting points within the facilities.
This initiative also contributes to strengthening local emergency brigades and is part of the comprehensive program developed by the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology (UMECIT) to promote an institutional culture based on prevention and preparedness.
Risk management is closely linked to environmental protection and occupational health and safety. Having trained personnel helps reduce physical and human risks in the face of emergencies, natural disasters, and other events that may affect the university community.
Through this training and the alliance with INFIRESC, the Chitré campus continues to strengthen the capabilities of its staff to respond in an organized and safe manner to emergency situations, reaffirming the institutional commitment to the well-being and protection of the entire academic community.
