The La Chorrera headquarters successfully carried out the Christmas Campaign of the Volunteer Project “Hands that Transform”, a day full of solidarity and festive spirit developed at the Altos del Jobo School.
This activity benefited from the invaluable support of students from various disciplines, who donated toys and actively participated in organizing the event. In particular, the Psychology students played a key role as a team, providing emotional support, companionship, and helping to create a joyful atmosphere for the children in the community.
In total, Psychology students participated along with their professor, Maritime students, administrative staff, and the Extension Coordinator, who managed the necessary contacts for the successful execution of the activity. The event also included the presence and support of the teacher in charge of the educational center, as well as 42 children of different ages and their guardians.
During the gathering, piñatas, Christmas bags, gifts, recreational activities and surprises were shared, creating a space of celebration, unity and joy that strengthened ties with the community.
The initiative was organized by the Extension Coordination, with the support of the Academic Coordination of Psychology and the Campus Coordination, who worked together to ensure its success.
This collective effort reaffirms UMECIT's institutional commitment to community service, solidarity, and positive impact on nearby communities, promoting the value of volunteering as an engine of social transformation.
