Learning Environmental Culture in Higher Education: "Importance of Environmental Education in Panama"

Environmental education increases the awareness and knowledge of students, teachers, administrators, and the general public about environmental issues or problems, and in doing so, provides the necessary tools to make informed decisions and responsible measures.

UMECIT and MI Ambiente as part of the "Learning Environmental Culture in Higher Education" program that has been developed since 2021, assume the commitment through a set of specific actions to the consolidation of a culture of environmental conservation inside and outside the institution, responding to the realization of an action plan with a view to reducing the environmental impact of the environment, as a citizen responsibility of the entire university community.

From the extension program, actions that allow the conservation of the natural resources of our institution and the environment are promoted, involving the umecista community and the population in general.
