XXIII Research Conference – La Chorrera Venue

The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology (UMECIT) successfully celebrated, last Saturday, November 22nd, the XXIII Student Research Conference at the headquarters of La Chorrera, a space that brought together groups of students from the careers of General Psychology, Marketing and Advertising, Criminalistics, Law, Medical Records and Health Statistics, and Maritime and Port Administration.

During the day, participants presented research aimed at providing real solutions to community problems, strengthening their analytical skills and their training as future professionals committed to social transformation.

The featured projects were:

  • First Place – Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and Advertising
    “Sustainable social marketing to improve waste management and public health in La Chorrera”
    Adviser: Osvaldo Blackman.

  • Second Place – Bachelor's Degree in Criminalistics and Forensic Sciences, Planimetry Seedbed
    “Relationship between cadaveric signs and temperature to estimate the post-mortem interval”
    Adviser: Mijaid Tuñón.

  • Third Place – Bachelor's Degree in Medical Records and Health Statistics
    “Actions of affected residents in West Panama in the face of health insecurity, highlighting its consequences”
    Advisor: Kerubis Harris.

As part of the outreach activities, we have the valuable participation of the research teacher. Libardo Martínez, who presented the conference:
“Scientific research and its transformative impact on the environment: knowledge at the service of sustainability”, providing attendees with an in-depth look at the role of science in building a more sustainable future.

These initiatives, developed jointly by the substantive functions of teaching, research and extension reinforce the star of Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship of our Neocyberhumanist Model, encouraging our students to become researchers capable of generating a positive impact from their professional areas.
