As part of the academic development of the subject Labor Legislation on Occupational Health, an enriching event was held at the Santiago headquarters of UMECIT Keynote Lecture on Dismissal, the objective of which was to offer students a training experience directly linked to judicial practice and the application of current labor regulations.
The activity was organized by the teacher Adalgiza Meneses and had the distinguished participation of the Judge Larissa Rodríguez, of the Superior Labor Court of Panama, who shared his experience and knowledge in occupational health and safety, addressing key issues regarding the judicial interpretation of dismissals, as well as their impact on workers' labor rights.
During her remarks, Judge Rodríguez illustrated her presentation with examples of relevant case law and decisions that strengthen understanding of the labor legal framework, especially with regard to the protection of physical and mental health in the workplace.
The event brought together students from the Bachelor of Laws and of Occupational Safety and Health, creating a valuable space for dialogue between academic theory and legal application, and highlighting the fundamental role of labor courts in defending workers' rights.
