UMECIT present at the 2025 Brain Fair

The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT- reaffirmed its commitment to promoting comprehensive well-being by actively participating in the Brain Fair 2025, organized by the Serenamente Foundation and the National Commission for the Comprehensive Approach to Suicidal Risk Behavior, on the occasion of the commemoration of the Brain Day.

The fair took place at the Omar Recreational and Cultural Park and brought together more than 500 people of all ages for an educational, participatory, and awareness-raising event on the importance of caring for brain health and strengthening mental well-being.

During the event, interactive activities, cognitive games, workshops, and educational materials focused on emotional development, brain stimulation, and mental self-care strategies were offered.

UMECIT's participation included students and teachers from the following careers: Psychology, Physiotherapy and Nursing, who shared knowledge, tools, and experiences with attendees, reaffirming the institutional commitment to transformative education and social service.

Furthermore, this intervention responded to UMECIT's role as a member of the Council of Rectors of Panama, an entity that is an active member of the National Organizing Committee. The academic presence of universities—including ULATINA, UDI, COLUMBUS, UIP, USMA, UAM, UTP, and UMECIT—demonstrated the fundamental role of the higher education sector in promoting mental health in the country.

With this participation, UMECIT continues to consolidate its work as a university that promotes health and is an agent of social change, actively contributing to the construction of healthier, more conscious, and supportive environments.
