UMECIT participates in the REALCUP 2024 Meeting in Puebla, Mexico, organized with Anahuac University in Puebla, Mexico

From October 1 to 3, 2024, the Metropolitan University of Science and Technology (UMECIT) participated in the prestigious REALCUP 2024 Meeting, held in Puebla, Mexico, organized by the Federation of Private Mexican Institutions of Higher Education (FIMPES) and the Universidad Anáhuac Puebla. This event brought together 60 international speakers and more than 25 rectors of private universities in Latin America and the Caribbean, around the theme "Inclusive quality and dynamic relevance in private universities in Latin America and the Caribbean."

UMECIT was represented by a high-level delegation headed by the Rector and President of the Association of Private Universities of Panama (AUPPA), Dr. José Alberto Nieto Rojas, together with the Vice-Rector General, Dr. Claudia Marcela Rueda, Dr. Rosa Idalí Castañeda González, Legal and Academic Advisor, and Dr. William Frank Español Sierra, Director of Quality. During the meeting, UMECIT reaffirmed its commitment to educational excellence and the strengthening of strategic alliances to improve teaching-learning processes in the region.

The event was a key platform for UMECIT to boost international collaboration. Over the three days, keynote lectures, panel discussions and workshops focused on educational innovation, technological development and the fundamental role of universities in training competent professionals were held. UMECIT representatives highlighted the importance of promoting quality education and working in synergy with other institutions to foster learning and academic development in the region.

During the event, UMECIT also took the opportunity to establish strategic alliances with other universities present at the meeting. These collaborations are focused on creating opportunities for academic exchange, joint research projects and the development of programs that benefit the university community, both locally and internationally.

UMECIT's participation in this important meeting reaffirms its role as a leader in higher education in Panama and the region, committed not only to the academic training of its students, but also to the creation of an inclusive, innovative and dynamic learning environment. The REALCUP 2024 meeting was a crucial platform for UMECIT to continue expanding its horizons and actively contribute to educational transformation at a global level.
