The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology (UMECIT) actively participated in the XVII RUITEM Forum, organized by the Ibero-American University Network on Territory and Mobility, under the motto “Infrastructure, Mobility and Sustainable Development”.
The event, held in the Auditorium of the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Postgraduate Studies of the University of PanamaIt brought together researchers, academics and representatives of higher education institutions from all over Latin America, consolidating a space for high-level scientific and academic exchange.
Researchers from the Chitré branch participated on behalf of UMECIT. César Tobar, a student of the Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and Human Development, and Osvaldo Solis, research professor of the Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Management Administration.
🔹 César Tobar presented his study “Socio-environmental monitoring of a family that collects garbage at the Chitré landfill”.
🔹 Osvaldo Solis shared the presentation “Environmental problems of the La Villa river basin”highlighting the importance of comprehensive environmental management in the country's rural and urban areas.
During the forum, the following was approved: incorporation of our researchers into the Ibero-American Observatory of Education and SustainabilityThis represents a strategic opportunity to strengthen international ties and boost projects. UMECIT student research groups and research groupsand promote initiatives with impact social, environmental and educational.
