UMECIT strengthens its commitment to environmental education in the training of Physical Education professionals

Last May, in an effort to integrate environmental awareness into academic training, the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology –UMECIT– has strengthened its commitment to the environmental education within the curriculum of the Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and Personal Training.

This initiative seeks to raise awareness among future graduates about the importance of incorporating responsible and sustainable physical practices, promoting alternatives that contribute to both the prevention as to the solution of the environmental problems that affect our society.

The main objective of this integration is contribute to the training of professionals capable of safely implementing plans, programs and projects in physical education, sports and recreation, with a vision of respect for environmental factors. In this way, we seek to promote a conscious and effective intervention in the country's environmental problems, from a sustainable approach.

UMECIT thus reaffirms its commitment to a comprehensive education, which not only promotes health and well-being through physical activity, but also ecological responsibility as an essential part of professional development.
