UMECIT strengthens strategic alliances for education and sustainable development

At the headquarters in La Chorrera, UMECIT held a meeting with representatives of the company Bay Sanitation and his Western Sanitation Consortium, together with our Academic, Research and Extension Coordinations.

During the meeting, the Consortium's project in the province of Western Panama was presented, seeking to generate synergies that strengthen the professional training of our students and the social impact of our institution.

Among the main topics addressed are:

✔ Research: creation of institutional projects linked to sustainable development in the region.
✔ Professional internships: Opening spaces for students of related careers, strengthening their comprehensive training and field experience.
✔ Cooperation agreements: Management of agreements that benefit both the company and UMECIT, strengthening academic ties with the productive sector and university outreach.

These initiatives consolidate the coordination of our substantive functions—teaching, research, and outreach—reaffirming our commitment to educational quality, innovation, and social development.
