Umecit – University in Panama

UMECIT at the 20th APANAC 2025 Congress

Our faculty and researchers had a successful participation in the 20th APANAC Congress. Representing UMECIT, Marcela Arana, César Edwards, Magdy De las Salas, Koritza Ortega, Alexis Brenes, Aurelio Andrión, and Elsa Montenegro, from the undergraduate programs in Criminology, General Psychology, Occupational Health and Safety, Law, and the PhD in Educational Sciences, shared the results of their research derived from institutional projects, strengthening our university's commitment to science and knowledge.

The researchers discussed scientific leadership, conciliation meetings, latent fingerprint detection, genetic markers, and musculoskeletal injuries.

Likewise, our talented General Psychology students, Jessica Landero and Benjamín Vergara, actively participated as speakers in a roundtable discussion on research incubators as a strategy for fostering scientific careers, along with research professor Roberto Moreno from the Santiago campus, and Dr. Magdy De las Salas, Director of Research and Innovation.

During the roundtable and symposium, research advances at UMECIT were discussed, reaffirming our institution's key role in generating knowledge and innovation. Both activities were moderated by Abilio Moreno, Research Center Coordinator.

We congratulate all participants for representing UMECIT with excellence and pride.

The future of science and research in Panama continues to be built with you!
