UMECIT Chitré commemorates Lawyers' Day with a human rights refresher course

In the framework of Lawyer's Day, the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology (UMECIT), Chitré campus, will hold a refresher course entitled "Human Rights in Times of Social Crisis", which will feature the special participation of Ombudsman of the Republic of Panama, Mr. Eduardo Leblanc González, as facilitator of the event.

This workshop aims to strengthen participants' competencies from a human rights-based perspective, especially relevant in contexts of social crisis. It also seeks to foster a critical and proactive approach, enabling participants to become peacemakers, capable of preventing the escalation of conflicts and promoting justice, understanding human rights not only as an ideal but as a practical tool for social transformation.

 The event will take place on Friday, August 15, 2025, in it Hotel Azuero in the City of Chitré, during business hours 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm
