With the aim of strengthening the financial capabilities of entrepreneurs in the community, UMECIT, La Chorrera branch, held the workshop “Basic Accounting for Artisans and Entrepreneurs”, in partnership with the Authority for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (AMPYME) and the Municipality of La Chorrera.
The activity included the participation of student entrepreneurs, graduates, artisans and members of the UMECIT Golden Age project, who came together to strengthen their knowledge in the financial management of their productive initiatives.
The workshop was led by Bienvenido Gutiérrez B., a professor in the Accounting program at UMECIT's La Chorrera campus, and a renowned expert and entrepreneur in the region. During the session, fundamental accounting concepts were covered in a clear and practical manner, enabling participants to understand the importance of maintaining proper financial control in their businesses.
Also present was the regional director of AMPYME, Dayan Pinzón, as well as authorities from different departments of the Municipality of La Chorrera, who supported this training initiative aimed at strengthening the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.
During the session, essential processes for organizing income, controlling expenses, and accounting records were explained—key tools for decision-making and sustainable business growth.
With these types of initiatives, UMECIT reaffirms its commitment to continuing education, support for entrepreneurship and the economic development of the community, promoting learning spaces that contribute to strengthening talent and innovation in the region.
