As part of our school's 21st anniversary celebration, the Santiago campus held a moving day of solidarity that reaffirms UMECIT's commitment to the community and its humanistic educational model.
In a gesture full of empathy and generosity, teachers and students joined forces to support low-income mothers whose babies were born on this significant date. Through the collection of baby baskets containing basic necessities, these gifts were delivered directly to the Luis "Chicho" Fábrega Hospital in Santiago de Veraguas, bringing a message of hope, love, and support to these new families.
Additionally, as part of this initiative, diapers, wipes, and toiletries were donated to the hospital's neonatal ward, supporting the care of newborns and the healthcare personnel who work daily for their well-being.
These actions reflect not only the human quality that distinguishes our academic community, but also the impact of a university that actively engages with its community, promoting values such as solidarity, empathy, and social responsibility.
At UMECIT, we celebrate 21 years of transforming lives and training professionals with integrity, committed to human development and collective well-being.
