Promoting values from early childhood education: academic practice of students at the Santiago Campus

Students of the Bachelor's Degree in Preschool Education of the Santiago Headquarters They carried out an enriching academic practice in the La Primavera Bilingual Educational Center, as part of the subject Promotion and Animation in Preschool Education, under the guidance of the teacher Marleni Raquel Arcia.

The day focused on the use of playful strategies for promoting values through play, music, singing, storytelling and theatrical artistic expression, allowing future teachers apply in real contexts the knowledge acquired in the classroom.

One of the highlights was the dramatization “Painting Values with Primary Colors”, in which each color represented an essential value such as love, peace, and respect. This activity was joined by dynamics such as “The game of values”, which reinforced skills such as empathy, teamwork, and communication in the children. In addition, the story was presented “The Garden of Values” Using a puppet theater, they successfully captured the attention of children and encouraged meaningful learning through the characters' adventures.

This experience not only contributes to the professional and pedagogical development of the students, but also strengthens the bond with the community, reaffirming UMECIT's commitment to inclusive, transformative education that is sensitive to the realities of the environment.

Active participation in educational centers in the immediate surroundings reflects the university's approach to a living university extension, which promotes learning through practice and social commitment.
