We participated in an inter-institutional tour in Potrero Grande with the Ministry of Women

In response to a request from the Ministry of Women, the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology (UMECIT) actively participated in an inter-institutional tour of the Potrero Grande community, an area characterized by visible social challenges.

The main purpose of this initiative was to bring institutional services closer to the population, with the goal of reducing social risk situations through access to information and timely care. Within this framework, UMECIT promoted the services of the University Psychological Clinic from a preventive and social perspective, providing guidance and emotional support to families in the community.

The activity strengthened the community care and prevention network, achieving a comprehensive impact through the university's various substantive functions:

  • From teaching, the active participation of students was encouraged, who applied their knowledge in a real environment.

  • From the extension, psychosocial support services were brought closer to the population, fulfilling the commitment to social responsibility.

  • From the research, recurring needs in the community were identified, providing relevant data for future interventions.

  • From management, key relationships with government and community institutions were consolidated, enhancing collaborative work.

UMECIT reaffirms its commitment to social development, equity, and inclusion, promoting initiatives that generate a positive impact on vulnerable communities.
