Career Description

The Master's Degree in Human Movement Sciences is conceived as an academic and scientific response to new challenges in the study of human movement, encompassing everything from its physiological and biomechanical foundations to its implications in educational, clinical, and sports contexts. The program trains professionals with strong analytical, critical, and proactive skills, capable of intervening in processes of motor development, physical performance, and overall health, based on a complex, interdisciplinary, and up-to-date understanding of human movement.

This Master's program is oriented toward the production of knowledge through scientific research, with areas of focus on movement pedagogy, motor control, applied neuroscience, adapted physical activity, training, and health. Prioritizes reflection on embodiment, motor learning, the evaluation of physical performance, and the transformation of professional practices through integrative and innovative approaches, in line with contemporary social, cultural, and technological needs.

The program is aimed at professionals in fields such as physical education, physical therapy, psychomotor skills, sports medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, kinesiology, and degrees in fields related to the study of human movement. It seeks to develop leaders with the skills to design, execute, and evaluate projects that promote physical well-being, motor development, and inclusion, from an ethical, scientific, and socially committed perspective. The training they receive enables them to enter academic, clinical, sports, and community settings with a focus on continuous improvement and evidence-based solutions.

The career path for the Master's in Human Movement Sciences is dynamic, strategic, and has a direct impact on key sectors of human development. Graduates of this program are qualified to work in educational institutions, healthcare organizations, rehabilitation centers, community spaces, sports organizations, and public or private management settings where motor development, corporeality, learning, and physical well-being are addressed. All applicants must submit the following documentation duly scanned from the original and sent to the promoter to be uploaded to the respective platform:

  • Bachelor's degree diploma or its equivalent 
  • Bachelor's degree credits or grades or their equivalent 

If you are a foreigner, the aforementioned documents must be apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of your respective country. In the event that the country does not have a consulate, it must be processed before the official authorities that validate it.

  • Identity document (passport in case of foreigners residing in Panama).
  • A current passport-sized photo 
  • Fill out the admission form in electronic format with the promoter. 

Note 1: Panamanian students who have graduated from abroad must present their documents properly certified and apostilled. If translation is required, it must be done by an authorized translator.

Note 2: Students enrolled in virtual mode whose nationality is not Panamanian must present a copy of their personal identification document from their country of origin. 

If you are a foreign student, these documents must be provided with an apostille seal or diplomatic legalization, and translated into Spanish by an authorized public translator.

The permanence in the University will depend on the student's motivation, capacity and vision to obtain the chosen degree. 

Given the profile of the University's Neocyberhumanist curricular educational model, the student must: 

  • Study in teams and individually.
  • Develop research skills based on discovery learning.
  • Deepen in the disciplinary knowledge that is of interest to them. 
  • Respect and comply with the regulations established by the statutes that regulate the relationship between the University and the students.
  • Take a certification exam of a second language recognized by UNESCO, in accordance with internal regulations.
  • Be up to date with their monthly payments.
  • Attend at least 80% of the meetings in the blended modality.
  • For studies under the virtual modality, attendance is regulated by constant interaction in all activities planned on the platform, including synchronous and asynchronous meetings, as well as the development of the student's autonomous work.
  • In case of prolonged absence, the student must present a justified argumentation. 
  • All students of the Specialization programs must have basic computer skills.
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative index of 2 on a scale of 1 to 3.
  • Pass each subject with a minimum grade of 81 on a scale of 1 to 100 which is equivalent to B.

To obtain the Specialist Title it is required:

  • Maintain a cumulative academic index of not less than two (2.00) on a scale of three (3.00).
  • Take a certification exam of a second language recognized by UNESCO, in accordance with internal regulations.
  • Complete and pass all the subjects of the curriculum with a minimum grade of 81 points equivalent to a B.

In order to obtain the Master's Degree it is required:

  • Complete and pass all the subjects of the curriculum with a minimum grade of 81 points equivalent to a B. 

Final Project (Degree)

  • Elaborate, support and approve the degree work. 
  • The program must not be continued for more than four years.
  • Complete and pass all the academic content of the program enrolled. 
  • Complete and pass all the subjects of the curriculum with a minimum grade of 81 points equivalent to a B. 
  • Maintain a cumulative academic index of not less than two (2.00) on a scale of three (3.00).

  • It will identify needs in the field of Human Movement Science, for their resolution through the formulation of projects in the area. 
  • You will identify the fundamentals of the research process with a view to producing scientific knowledge that supports the field of Human Movement Sciences. 
  • You will recognize the role of Human Movement Science, from the perspective of ethics and the characteristics of the individual as a biopsychosocial being, in line with the new challenges of today's society. 
  • You will understand the problems of Human Movement Science, both from the perspective of its foundations and its processes and results, incorporating it into social and educational change in a positive and creative way.
  • You will recognize the value of Human Movement Science as a platform for human, social, and quality-of-life development.
