Career Description
The Master's Degree in Tourism Management It seeks to train competent professionals through research and intervention in the field of tourism management, with a view to addressing projects that contribute to the exponential development of the sector, in the dynamics of the global market, through humanistic and socio-formative principles, which permeate the integral formation of the human being, to provide responses consistent with the demands of the social fabric through criteria, achieving competent performance, continuous improvement and ethical commitment of the future graduate.
This program develops students' instrumental skills in the professional and work environment, based on strategies relevant to new trends in the discipline and in the tourism sector. It also aims to train professionals in tourism management, incorporating new trends and innovations for high competitiveness, and building upon a foundation of knowledge, techniques, procedures, organizational environment, and resources to achieve systematic and effective optimization in today's world.
Enterprise:
- Evaluate tourism business opportunities, taking into account the country's economy.
- Develop skills for planning and managing tourism services.
- Selection and administration of human resources from the needs of the tourism market.
- Applies instruments, tools and techniques for decision making, related to the management of SMEs.

The program is aimed at professionals in administration and related fields who work in the multidisciplinary management of tourism projects, whether in public or private organizations. Therefore, the admission requirements are:
- Bachelor's degree or its equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree credits or grades or their equivalent.
- If you are a foreigner, the aforementioned documents must be apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of your respective country. In the event that the country does not have a consulate, it must be processed before the official authorities that validate it.
- Identity document (ID card or passport in the case of foreigners) and residency in Panama.
- Application letter
- A passport-sized photo.
- Fill out the admission form in electronic format with the promoter.
Note:
- Students enrolled in the virtual modality whose nationality is different from Panamanian must present a copy of their personal identity document from their country of origin (national identity card or equivalent).
Continued enrollment at the University depends solely on the student, their motivation, ability, and vision for obtaining the chosen academic degree. The minimum duration of enrollment at the University is four (4) semesters. Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 and/or a minimum grade of 81 (B) to remain in both the Specialization and Master's programs.
Given the characteristics of the University, the student will be able to perform in terms of:
- Study in teams and individually.
- Develop research skills based on discovery learning.
- Deepen in the disciplinary knowledge that is of interest to them.
- Respect and comply with the regulations established by the statutes that govern the relations between the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology and the students of the Institution.
- Keeping your payments up to date.
- Attend 80% of the scheduled meetings.
- In case of prolonged absence, a justified justification must be presented.
In the case of studies under the virtual modality, attendance is regulated through constant interaction in all activities planned on the platform, including synchronous and asynchronous meetings, as well as the development of the student's autonomous work.
To obtain the Specialist Title in Creation and Implementation of Small and Medium Enterprises, the following is required:
- Complete and pass the academic content of the first two (2) semesters, containing 25 credits.
- Maintain a cumulative academic index of not less than two (2.00) on a scale of three (3.00).
- Not to have subjects lower than 81 (B).
- Present an exam or certificate of a second language recognized by UNESCO, updated (five years), not less than 40 hours.
- Submit an exam or certificate in the use of computer tools, not less than 40 hours.
- Prepare, support and approve the degree work according to the D-16 manual of the University.
- Clearance from the treasury for all concepts (tuition fees, monthly payments, graduation fees, among others).
- Library clearance.
To obtain the Master's Degree in Tourism Management, the following is required:
- To have satisfactorily passed all the subjects of the study plan.
- Maintain a cumulative and individual academic index per subject of 2.0.
- Not to have subjects lower than 81 (B).
- Present an exam or certificate of a second language recognized by UNESCO, updated (five years), not less than 40 hours.
- Submit an exam or certificate in the use of computer tools, not less than 40 hours.
- Have carried out, supported and approved their professional practice work (degree option).
