Career Description

The Master's Degree in Health Services Management program is aimed at all types of professionals linked to the area of health sciences or who wish to be linked to it.

This program is based on the formation of a suitable manager in the health area, with tools to plan and supervise the quality of integral health systems, according to the policies of the public or private sector.

The academic structure of the program highlights the role of the manager in the different levels of care for the improvement of the quality of health services. In addition, emphasis is placed on skills aimed at decision making and the application of user care strategies, assuming with leadership propitious transformations in the process of modernization of organizations.

Additionally, the graduate of the program will possess solid foundations to generate research, with a critical, positive attitude, for the continuous improvement of health services, in order to face the problems generated in public health and possible future approaches in the health sector.

Graduates of the Master’s Degree in Health Services Management can work in areas and activities such as:

  • Manager of a hospital center or medical center.
  • Advisor in hospital centers.
  • Advisor and consultant in government agencies.
  • Trainer in health centers.
  • Project developer in the health sector.
The Master’s Degree in Health Services Management has these requirements
  • Original and copy (collated) of the bachelor's degree diploma or its equivalent (in the case of foreigners, the document must be apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of their respective country).
  • Copy of credits or grades of the bachelor’s degree or its equivalent (in case of being a foreigner, the documents must be apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the respective country).
  • Two photocopies of the identity card (passport in case of being a foreigner).
  • Certificate of good physical health.
  • Two passport size photos.
  • Application letter
  • Resume.
  • Fill out the application form for admission to the program.

The permanence in the Master’s Degree in Health Services Management at the University will depend solely and exclusively on the student's motivation, capacity and vision to obtain the chosen academic degree.

The term of permanence in the University will be five (5) quarters.

The student must maintain an Academic Index of a minimum of 2.0 and/or a minimum grade of 81 (B) to remain in both the Specialization and the Master's Degree.

Given the characteristics of the University the student will be able through advisors in the methodological fields.

  • Attend 80% of the face-to-face meetings.
  • Punctually attend events and academic sessions (field practices).
  • Ethical and respectful conduct in the representations of the institution.
  • Prove that during the first year of study he/she has a command (verbal and written) of another language (recognized by UNESCO) that allows him/her to read updated scientific bibliography.

To obtain the title of Specialist in Health Management the following is required:

  • Complete and pass the academic content of the first two (2) quarters (29 credits).
  • Maintain a cumulative academic index of not less than two (2.00) on a scale of three.
  • Maintain a grade point average equal or higher than 2.0 and have no subjects lower than 81.
  • Submit an exam or certificate of a second language recognized by UNESCO, updated (five years).
  • Submit an exam or certificate on the use of computer tools.
  • Elaborate, support and approve the degree work (monograph).
  • Payment of all fees (tuition, monthly fees, degree fees, etc.).
  • Courses and/or seminars.

To obtain the Master’s Degree in Health Services Management is required: the following is required:

  • Satisfactorily pass all the subjects of the master's study plan.
  • Maintain a cumulative and individual academic index per subject of 2.0.
  • Submit an exam or certificate of a second language recognized by UNESCO, updated (five years).
  • Submit an exam or certificate on the use of computer tools.
  • Submit their graduation work or equivalent.
  • Payment of all fees (tuition fees, monthly fees, graduation fees, among others).
  • Attend courses and/or seminars.

The graduate of the Master’s Degree in Health Services Management is a professional who has acquired training to work as a health manager and director.

Mastery of a conceptual and methodological framework to improve the performance, productivity and quality of integrated health systems.

Mastery of methods and techniques to organize and direct integral health systems, and to make proposals that contribute to the quality of health services.
