Educational Tour to the Superintendency of the Securities Market of Panama

The educational tour carried out in the Superintendency of the Securities Market of Panama It represented a valuable academic strategy aimed at strengthening the comprehensive training of students, through the effective articulation between theory and practice.

This initiative arose in response to the need to complement the content of subjects such as Money, Credit and Banking and Stock Market and Finance, allowing students to understand the actual functioning of the Panamanian financial system and the fundamental role of the regulatory body in supervising the capital market.

From its inception, the activity integrated institutional management, academic and logistical coordination, and the development of a guide to enhance the learning experience. Furthermore, students received prior preparation focused on the visit's objectives and the rules of conduct, ensuring the fulfillment of the academic goals.

During the day, participants 14 students, Accompanied by their teacher, along with specialized staff from the institution, the activities included:

  • Institutional reception
  • Presentations on the organizational structure and legal framework of the stock market in Panama
  • Explanation of the processes of supervision, oversight and investor protection
  • Spaces for academic interaction to address concerns

Despite the time constraints inherent in the institutional agenda, significant results were achieved. These include:

✔ Greater understanding of the Panamanian stock market
✔ Active student participation
✔ Identification of new lines of research in stock market regulation
✔ Strengthening the link between the university and the public financial sector

The subsequent evaluation showed a high level of student satisfaction, as well as an increase in interest in financial regulation and a notable improvement in the practical understanding of academic content.

This experience reaffirms the importance of external academic activities as key tools for training professionals with critical thinking, applied knowledge, and commitment to the development of the country's financial system.
