Student Scientific Award recognizes research talent at UMECIT Chitré and Santiago

In a distinguished ceremony held in the city of Chitré, UMECIT held the Student Scientific Award, an event that recognizes the outstanding participation of students from the Chitré and Santiago campuses for their contributions to science and research.

The research presented demonstrates the development of critical thinking, accompanied by commitment, creativity, and social responsibility, aimed at generating knowledge with social relevance and the ability to transform realities in our environment.

The event was attended by prominent figures from the province, including Mr. Elías Corro Cano, Governor of the province of Herrera; Mr. Juan Carlos Huertas, Mayor of the district of Chitré; Ms. Edixa Gutiérrez Franco, President of APEDE Azuero; Father Venancio Ortega, Parish Priest of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish; Ms. Olga Nellys Tapa, lawyer; Mr. Edwin Rodríguez, Deputy Director of the Regional University Center of the University of Panama; Mr. Diego Madrid, Director of the Institute of Legal Medicine; and Mr. Rody Espino, Director of AMPIME, who were guarantors of this important event.

This award reaffirms UMECIT's commitment to strengthening student research as a fundamental axis in academic training, promoting an education that transcends the classroom and generates an impact on society.
