On November 22nd, the Faculty of Humanities and Educational Sciences carried out a significant academic activity with students of the Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and Personal Training, who participated in a training tour to the UMECIT Physiotherapy Clinic.
This initiative, aligned with the institutional principles of competency-based education, aimed to strengthen practical learning and consolidate the theory-practice integration that distinguishes the university's professional training.
During the tour, the students explored the specialized facilities and learned about the technologies, biomedical equipment, and therapeutic procedures used in functional rehabilitation. The clinic's professional team provided expert guidance, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration between physical training and physiotherapy as a key element for the prevention, treatment, and comprehensive recovery of musculoskeletal injuries.
This experience allowed future professionals to directly experience the operational foundations of physiotherapy treatments, strengthening their skills in functional assessment, exercise prescription, physical conditioning, and health promotion from a holistic perspective. Furthermore, it exposed students to professional practice in real-world settings, fostering critical thinking, informed decision-making, and the application of scientific evidence.
With activities like this, UMECIT reaffirms its commitment to relevant, quality higher education aimed at strengthening the professional profile of its students, guaranteeing formative experiences that contribute to the development of capacities for effective intervention in the field of health and physical activity.
