Psychology students from UMECIT strengthen their training with an academic visit to the National Cancer Institute

On April 6, students from the Psychology program at UMECIT made an academic visit to the National Cancer Institute, as part of the Psycho-oncology course.

During this day, participants had the opportunity to get closer to the oncology hospital environment, directly understanding the comprehensive approach to the patient diagnosed with cancer and the importance of interdisciplinary work in the health field.

The activity was led by Mr. Eybar Sanguillén, who shared knowledge and experiences on clinical management, highlighting the fundamental role of psychology in the emotional support of patients and their families, as well as the importance of humanization in health care.

This type of academic experience strengthens the theoretical and practical training of students, promoting observation, critical reflection and the development of professional skills with a high ethical and human sense.

UMECIT thus reaffirms its commitment to a comprehensive education that transcends the classroom and trains professionals with a vocation for service, empathy, and social commitment.

The students were accompanied by the teacher Yarlim Camarena.
