Students of the Bachelor's Degree in Preschool Education develop community activities with a focus on the comprehensive education of children.

As part of the subject Human Being and its Context, the fourth-quarter students of the Bachelor's Degree in Preschool Education, with the accompaniment of teacher Roberto Andrade and the valuable support of the La Cantera UMECIT FC coaching staff, developed an enriching academic activity aimed at children of the community.

Likewise, the teacher Rogers Yela led a project that links The UMECIT FC Quarry with the Faculty of Humanities and Educational Sciences, promoting the articulation between the sports and educational fields to strengthen experiential learning and collaborative work.

The purpose of this educational workshop was to foster the development of reflective knowledge about the role of human beings as rational social agents, capable of assessing their environment and acting responsibly in individual and group settings.

During the activity, key topics for comprehensive training were addressed, such as:

  • The Human Being and his Context

  • The family and the educational center

  • The community

  • Group integration and teamwork

  • Self-acceptance and self-esteem

  • Interpersonal relationships

  • Managing emotions in childhood

These dynamics promoted the development of essential skills in the students for their future teaching practice at the initial level, such as:

  • Value individual and collective contributions through collaborative work, including in sports contexts.

  • Recognize the importance of the family as the core of the child's social context.

  • Identify strategies to support children's emotional management.

  • Actively participate in group dynamics that strengthen social integration.

  • Understand the role of the community as an essential part of the educational process.

The activity represented a valuable opportunity to articulate theoretical knowledge with meaningful experiences, thus strengthening the training of future educators committed to the well-being and comprehensive development of children.
