UMECIT student strengthens his training in Colombia through an international mobility program

On August 16, at the Villa Zaita campus of the International Bilingual Institution (IBI), Reinaldo Austin, a student from the Faculty of Humanities at UMECIT, presented the justification for his professional internship, which was developed through the international mobility program, within the framework of the agreement established with the University of Santo Tomás of Colombia.

The internship took place during the first semester of 2023, thanks to the collaborative efforts of the Internationalization Unit, the Rector's Office, and the Academic Coordination Office. During this period, Austin traveled to Colombia to work as a sports coach at the Pan de Azúcar Academy, an institution recognized for its focus on developing youth talent.

His work focused on the club's youth team, supporting players between the ages of 12 and 18 through comprehensive development processes. His responsibilities included planning and executing training sessions, providing technical and tactical analysis, and evaluating opponents to develop competitive strategies.

In this setting, the student strengthened essential skills such as effective communication, motivation, and conflict resolution, in addition to enhancing his empathy, adaptability, and commitment as a sports leader.

Austin's experience reflects the importance of the international mobility programs promoted by UMECIT, which seek not only to broaden academic horizons but also to enrich the professional and personal development of their students, providing them with a global perspective and greater opportunities for career advancement.

With initiatives like this, UMECIT reaffirms its commitment to providing the university community with experiences that connect knowledge with practice in international settings, strengthening their preparation for the challenges of the present and future.
