Friendly volleyball match strengthens sportsmanship and university integration

Last Friday, September 17, a friendly volleyball match was held between the women's and men's teams of the Metropolitan University of UMECIT and the University of the Isthmus, at the latter's Central Campus.

The event was part of the sports training and strengthening activities promoted by the University Welfare Department of UMECIT, with the purpose of promoting healthy habits, teamwork and healthy competition among students.

In the women's division, the UMECIT team demonstrated great consistency and determination, achieving a final victory after winning the first set, losing the second, and then recovering strongly in the third. In the men's division, although the victory went to the University of the Isthmus, the UMECIT players showed dedication, commitment, and an excellent level of technical skill throughout the match.

The event unfolded in an atmosphere of respect, camaraderie, and enthusiasm, ensuring hydration, proper use of sports equipment, and active participation from all players. A total of 11 female and 10 male players participated, under the guidance of Professor Carlos Vega, who led both teams throughout the day.

Beyond the results, this meeting strengthened the sense of unity, effort, and perseverance among the athletes, promoting the values of teamwork and discipline that characterize the UME community.

At UMECIT, we reaffirm our commitment to university sports as an essential tool for the comprehensive development of our students and to consolidate integration links with other institutions.
