Research Policies

UMECIT's research policies are presented in terms of their articulation with the progress of the academic programs offered, understanding research as a transversal axis of the curriculum. From this perspective, the universal conception of knowledge assumed requires the following policies:

Fostering a research culture in the university community

that contributes to the generation, dissemination, appropriation, and transfer of knowledge, as a contribution to the development of science, technology and innovation and in correspondence with national development plans.

Promote the development of research skills

from the various academic spaces in accordance with the educational curricular model of the institution.

Apply the regulatory framework for formative and institutional research

that promotes, guides, and regulates research, innovation and technological development activity; based on ethical foundations and respect for intellectual property.

Strengthen the research lines with criteria of social relevance

systemic resourcefulness, transversality, integrality, and flexibility, which guide the development of research and intellectual production, in accordance with the mission and institutional vision.

Promote the creation of inter, multi, and transdisciplinary research centers and groups

and the participation of teachers and students articulated for the development of research and innovation projects, which respond to the needs of the environment and to national policies on science and technology.

Provide financial support

stimuli and incentives for research as a strategy to consolidate the research culture and strengthen the activity of institutional research centers and groups.

Strengthening the research praxis

and its impact through the insertion of researchers in national and international networks.

Promote scientific production

through the different postgraduate programs in congruence with the lines of institutional research, as a space par excellence for the generation of knowledge.

Articulate inter-institutional efforts

for the promotion and development of research through agreements and strategic alliances with national and international organizations.

Implement training actions

and research training, which allow the development of research skills and competencies in the university community.

Promote the socialization of research results and innovations.

through publications and participation of researchers in events or national and international academic activities.

Strengthen the institutional scientific infrastructure

from research and development (R&D) as a platform for solving context problems from applied research, inventive processes, among other mechanisms.

Promote legalization

of the scientific, technological, and innovation production generated from the institutional academic space.

Apply the code and principles of bioethics

arranged by the institutional committee in favor of respect for life, the nature of confidentiality, the ethical performance of the researcher, and therefore, its implications in the context of the university academy.

Regulate through investigative committee monitoring

the quality and scientific rigor of the research products generated at the various levels and educational modalities.

Promote welfare work

in the development of programs of an artistic, sports, cultural, and social nature, which involve members of the community in general, in order to provide spaces for increasing their quality of life.
