The Third Training Session of the "Golden Age" Project concludes at UMECIT

The event was successfully held at the La Chorrera headquarters. Third training day of the “Golden Age” Social Engagement project, focused on entrepreneurship and financial management in entrepreneurship.

The activity, carried out in collaboration with the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Authority (AMPYME), Panama West headquarters, provided participants with essential tools for successful entrepreneurship. During the day, participants covered the legal, administrative, and functional processes required for developing a business, as well as strategies for financial management and the sustainability of ventures.

The event was attended by the Lic. Dayan Pinzón, Regional Director of AMPYME Panama West, who was accompanied by two distinguished trainers with extensive experience in entrepreneurship.

This effort reflects the commitment of UMECIT with the University Extension, generating a direct impact on the community by transferring knowledge and strengthening the capacities of the older adult population.

Linking the substantive functions of UMECIT

  • Teaching: Practical application of academic knowledge in a real-life setting, using active and participatory methodologies that strengthen the skills of students, teachers, and external participants.

  • Research: Generating information on the impact of training on older adults, as a basis for future studies and programs to support entrepreneurship in vulnerable populations.

  • Extension: Transfer of practical tools that promote the economic and social development of older adults.

  • Management: Effective coordination between UMECIT and AMPYME, resulting from an agreement that strengthens inter-institutional cooperation for community and educational benefits.

In this way, UMECIT reaffirms its commitment to the Comprehensive training, university social responsibility and strengthening ties between academia and society.
