Conference during Prematurity Awareness Week strengthens the training of future nurses

L

On November 28th, nursing students from the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT-, accompanied by Professor Miguel Gordón, participated in an enriching conference organized by the Neonatology Ward team of the San Miguel Arcángel Hospital, within the framework of the Prematurity Awareness Week.

During the activity, essential topics for the comprehensive care of the premature newborn were addressed, such as specialized clinical management, skin care, neonatal audiology and the psychological impact experienced by mothers in premature motherhood processes.

This experience strengthened the sensitivity, clinical judgment, and vocation of our students, bringing them closer to the reality of neonatal care and highlighting the importance of humane and specialized care.

Neonatology offers not only techniques, but also lessons in empathy, patience, and respect, which leave a deep mark on those who prepare to care for lives as fragile as they are precious.
