Social Commitment: UMECIT and TECHO Panama, united by the community

Students of the Psychology degree, under the guidance of the professor Jil Manuel, actively participated in the volunteer program UMECIT Hands that Transform, collaborating with the foundation TECHO Panama, also known as A Roof for my Country.

TECHO is a non-profit organization that mobilizes young volunteers in Latin America to combat extreme poverty through the construction of transitional housing and the implementation of social inclusion programs.

On this occasion, the work carried out by our students consisted of the execution of Community censuses in the Huertos del Edén Community, located in West Panama, with the aim of contributing to the diagnosis and strengthening of the initiatives developed by the foundation to benefit the neediest families.

With this type of experiences, UMECIT reaffirms its social commitment and institutional mission to train professionals with human sensitivity, capable of contributing to the transformation of their environment and collective well-being.
