The volunteer induction day was held at the UMECIT Santiago headquarters. “Hands that Transform”, a space aimed at formalizing the integration of teachers and students committed to community service.
During the induction, the structure, objectives, and main lines of action of the volunteering were presented, giving attendees a clear understanding of their role within the program.
The activity involved more than 20 teachers and students, who committed to actively contributing to social impact initiatives, reaffirming their sense of belonging and responsibility to the community.
University volunteering is a fundamental pillar of holistic education, promoting values such as empathy, solidarity, and social awareness. Through these opportunities, participants strengthen their personal and professional skills while making a positive impact on their communities.
With the implementation of “Hands that Transform”, UMECIT continues to promote actions that integrate academic excellence with human quality, consolidating an education that transcends the classroom and responds to the real needs of society.
The activity was led by Mgtr. Yelitza González, who accompanied the day from Panama City, along with Licdo. Emmanuel Mendieta, strengthening the training process of the participants from an institutional perspective.
Additionally, institutional pins were handed out, officially accrediting them as UMECIT volunteers.
