With the purpose of strengthening the research culture and developing the analytical capacity of its students, the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology (UMECIT), through its Santiago Headquarters, carried out the activity “Research Paths in Finance and Health: Projections from Veraguas”.
This academic meeting brought together students from the following careers: Bachelor´s Degree in Banking and Finance and Medical Records and Health Statistics, in a space designed to share the progress of the projects developed in the research hotbeds, promoting critical thinking and the search for contextualized solutions to real problems.
The event stood out for its interdisciplinary approach and its contribution to integrating teaching, research, and outreach, thus promoting comprehensive training focused on social relevance.
Two key projects were presented during the event:
🔹 Financial education in secondary school, presented by the Banking Seedbed, which aims to understand and improve the financial literacy of school-aged youth.
🔹 Artificial intelligence in medical records, driven by the Health Record Seedbed, which addresses the use of emerging technologies in health information management.
These initiatives not only make student talent visible, but also consolidate the role of research hotbeds as platforms that strengthen research skills, promote collaborative work, and generate proposals applicable to the local environment.
With activities like this, UMECIT reaffirms its commitment to quality higher education, based on critical thinking, innovation, and the development of skills to transform reality through knowledge.
